Just letting you guys and gals know. Tommorrow, I'm updating the entire playlist. Katharine has four spots. "Over It" and "Love Story" will be staying in for now, along with "Everywhere I Go". Any suggestions for the fourth one? Some listeners have asked me to add "Better Off Alone". Some have asked for "I Lost You" and "My Destiny".

OOOOOOh...I Lost You, I Lost You!!!  How fun would THAT be...I LOVE that song so that's my vote

in my mind the ultimate "Idol" contestant of the pre-lapsarian era, the one who most perfectly combined the demands for relentless emotive singing and the wow factor -- Katharine McPhee

Thanks kenndawg! I'll leave it to your expertise to choose the 4th. Whatever is most likely to be popular and increase album sales!

I too vote for 'I Lost You'.
It's my fav Kat song to date, even though it didn't make the album...

My vote is for Better Off Alone

Thanks DJ Kenny for putting Kat's songs on your playlist.  Now it up to her fans to send you their requests.  I would love to see one of her songs on your weekly chart list.

Com'on Kat fans send in your request to Idolwaves and get Love Story on the Top 20 chart list again.

The only reason I'd want Over It on there is so the single can get up to gold. I'd like to see Not Ur Girl or Neglected.

Yes, I Lost You should really give a goose to the album sales. Hell, put Ordinary World up there. I read comments dissing that song so often we need to get the profile of OW up.

I vote for "Better Off Alone" or "Ordinary World", just so that there's at least 1 ballad out of the 4.

kenndawg316, how large is your playlist, and who has the largest number of selections on it?

It depends on the number of CDs out, plus who's hot right now. Carrie, Kelly and Daughtry have the most. Fantasia close by. But, Carrie has our #1 song, Daughtry is at #2, Kelly is at #3 with Reba, and Fantasia is at #4. Those songs are in the playlist multiple times despite being just ONE song. Those finalists with current CDs get 4 spots (Taylor, Bucky, Kat, Kim L, etc). That amounts to four songs if none are in the Top 30 or Top 5 on the recurrent chart. After about a year and the albums cool off, it drops to 3 or so (Ruben, Clay Aiken, etc.) I try to keep at least one song in from ones we haven't heard from in a couple years or more, even if the CDs are old (Diana DeGarmo, Tamyra Gray, Jasmine Trias, etc). This all varies, though, especially when we get new music. I'd like to upgrade our account so we can fit more songs, but I don't have the finances to do so yet.

BTW, our playlist is 300 MB at a bitrate of 64. That amounts to about 170 songs at once (maybe 270 or so with the top 30 songs in there multiple times). However, many of those are trimmed out on Monday and Tuesday to make room for the Top 20 Countdown show. I'd like to upgrade to 600 or 700 MB at a bitrate of 96. But, that costs money! haha .. We are not-for-profit, so I pay out of my own pocket. I've tried donations already, and no one offered. I'm working on the website, and I may start selling ads just to keep up with and upgrade the station.
