If somebody could rip this that would be nice. http://www.lifesourcewater.com/rose-parade.html They have a little ad featuring Katharine promoting their float for the Rose Parade. They use "My Destiny" as the music behind the video. Very interesting choice of song given that Katharine has buried it. Or if nobody wants to rip it...at least you all can go watch the little video.

Typical of us, we tend to be rather "picky" with the media when it concern Katharine. The ad states that she will be singing something else, but what is significant is that she is endorsing a product that is healthy and environmentallt-friendly, in keeping with her image and lifestyle. The float itself will be different and quite beautiful and both the float and Katharine are "firsts" for this age-old event. That will attract a great deal of publicity.

Thanks for that, Joe. I'm not surprised they used 'My Destiny'--because RCA probably wouldn't let them use anything new. They're already tearing into KMF and other boards for using even a sample of the previewed songs. They probably picked 'MD'--because it fits the theme of the parade a little better than 'OtR does. And they probably figured that people have heard 'OtR' enough times. I'm glad they used 'MD', because people likely haven't heard it in a while...and it sounded good to hear again. That description of Kat as a "Float Rider" above her credit as "Entertainer" has to make you laugh. Who knows, maybe Kat can put that on her resume first to get good gigs in the future. Perhaps those who take things at face value will think Kat's a sorceress or something who can levitate...then take people for rides if they want. Hopefully they won't attach a wire to her and make her fly during her concert tour just for the spectacle. Maybe I'm wrong on 'Ordinary World' being the song she ultimately sings--but after seeing that animated frog taking a drink from a waterfall in the Life Source ad...singing 'Love Story' with that would turn it into a slight bit of a parody. A more serious song that fits with something to do with the environment and the world (hint hint) would work better. I'm sure 'OW' is a serious pop ballad that will bring on the emotions in people. And that's the best way to go on this parade. Lots of people of all ages will be watching--and pulling their heartstrings is the best way in promoting yourself.

Where y'all finding a video with a drinking frog? Floatrider... sounds like an old scifi novel by Anne McCaffrey. I think the general theme of the parade and float require a more serious song than one dealing with teenage love affairs or shopping sprees. But i could be wrong.

Not that I'm against the idea of Katharine performing in the Rose Parade, actually I think it a great idea. However, debuting your albums lead single sandwiched between an oversized spigot ( yes even one spurting clean, fresh, healthy LifeSource water at 400 gallons per minute) and a giant, thirsty, flower-covered amphibian sounds like a less than ideal scenario to me. Perhaps, Auld Lang Syne would be a better idea.

It's from the album but not the single, and based on hearing a snippet of it, it sounds like the song I've been waiting for. I hope the rest of it's that good. This is the first one that's given me an "I need to hear more of that! Right now!" reaction. The others have been growing on me bit by bit.

It's a quick shot in that video that automatically plays at the top of the page with Kat's 'My Destiny' on the soundtrack. It's just a slideshow ad featuring the fact that Kat's riding on Life Source's float called 'Clean Water' with numerous images showcasing the concept of the float. One passing still photo shows a color drawing of a frog sticking his tongue into that waterfall.

Who knows if that's how frogs really drink water--but how else would they?

Anyway, if it's not playing for you--you might have to watch it through a different browser, Groucho.

That's obviously a cute concept for a float--and it IS a good message overall that I believe in. Anybody who's drunk tap water knows how bad it tastes...and what damage it can potentially do. Though I guess the fluoride can help your teeth if you don't brush often.

I thought Kat's song ('Better Off Alone') would relate somehow to the theme of the float--but it's apparently only tangentially related if even that. The parade coordinators try to match the song to the theme as best they can. Frequently, it just doesn't relate at all and you wonder what they were thinking. Though I know the Rose Bowl Parade floats are quite a sight--so having Kat singing a great new song on a beautiful float is enough to please our senses.
