DJ Phlubs Phifteen Minutes of Phame - Phalls Phlat on Phace
Washington - Clueless Press International
A Washington DJ, Kane, upset over the fact that he did not get to meet Katharine McPhee, tried to make the beautiful singing star look bad on his radio show.
Using a worn out technique long ago discarded by such broadcasting illuminaries as Howard Stern, Jerry Springer and Dan Rather, an inexperienced intern from the station was given the task of interviewing Ms. McPhee, armed with a series of questions penned by the DJ and purposefully ignoring the request from the songstress that her personal life not be discussed. As could be expected, Ms. McPhee was not pleased with the direction the interview had taken, and politely expressed her displeasure.
Fans of Ms. McPhee were quick to jump on the offensive, and fan sites dedicated to the singer were abuzz with talk of the interview and the sleazy methods employed by the DJ to draw attention to himself. It soon became apparent to all that a media war was underway, with Mr. Kane using the airwaves as well as the internet entertainment network to disparage Ms. McPhee and the fans. The fans, meanwhile, were quietly using the fan sites to take issue with Mr. Kane's accusations as well as discuss his personal life in a much more intimate fashion than the intern was able to elicit from Ms. Mcphee.
Using the fan's displeasure, some of it directed to the station via email, Mr. Kane declared that the gloves were off and anything was fair since, according to him, most of the fans had attacked him personally, using the "F" word to describe him and his bewildered intern. Therein lay his downfall.
Anyone with even the slightest understanding of the McPhee fanbase knows that the letter "F" is never used in correspondence or discussion about Ms. McPhee. If Mr. Kane had been telling the truth about the content of the emails, he would have said something like, "I have been attacked personally by fans using the "Ph" word." Needless to say, everything said by Mr. Kane was now subject to question.
Media outlets soon picked up on the story, sympathizing with Ms. McPhee. One pundit even stated, "Now, why do I feel uncomfortable?"
Mr. Kane has had his moment in the sun, and is now a toasty red.
A fan of Ms. McPhee, asked how they felt about the overall outcome of the conflict, stated, "We're phine with it."
Katharine's summer is full of hope, full of potential, and promises to provide many bouquets to grace the home that I call my heart.

Kat's Comment to me:
"Lauren,
don't worry about your gift and not getting on time. That is sooo sweet but you didn't have to do that. I really appreciate it. I read your comment and it really touched me. I'm happy you enjoyed your first season of Idol. I mostly thank you for all your support. It means more than anything. I just love that people are enjoying the music. Keep in touch and thanks again. Cute page too!

Wooo Hooo!!!! Kane may have had his fun but he came out looking like the jackass he was in this situation!! I am so thankful that the press saw through his crappy attitude and came out in support of Kat and US!!!
in my mind the ultimate "Idol" contestant of the pre-lapsarian era, the one who most perfectly combined the demands for relentless emotive singing and the wow factor -- Katharine McPhee
