Finally.
I finally made it to a promo show. Of course living 5 minutes away didn't hurt my chances, but after being sick for the Allentown show and missing Peisha's NY shows, then having the original July 12th date canceled, I crossed my fingers and said my prayers.

And I finally met Kat! More about that later.

I arrived at Six Flags about 3:30pm, suitably early for a 7:00pm show, or so I thought. I made my way to the venue, an open air arena which holds about 10,000. When I got there, I found a number of fans had beaten me, and some by quite a bit! First in line was Melissa and Jenn, with their Long Island McPhan contingent. I learned that they arrived at 9:00am! Also with them was Linda from Washington state, and Bella from Brazil. Together they traveled almost 12,000 miles to see Kat!  I then learned that for $10.50 you could buy 2 bags of Starburst candies and a red armband which provides access to the area directly in front of the stage. Naturally I broke out my wallet to get 12 feet closer to Kat. Want a Starburst?

Nothing much happened for the next 2 1/2 hours until the gates opened at 6:00pm. We passed the time talking and peeking through gaps in the fence, hoping to see any sign of Kat. The crowd was pretty light, this being a rescheduled show, and on an unusual night to boot. Promptly at 7:00pm the opening band started playing. I can't quite remember their name, but I understand they are a local act, and they had quite a bit of support in the audience. They played a short set until around 7:30.

Now if you figured it wouldn't take much time to get Kat set up and ready to go,you'd be wrong,like me. For some reason it wasn't until 8:20 that Kat took the stage, dressed in a short blue floral print baby doll style dress.She looked lovely as usual, with her hair swept back and wearing massive dangling earrings. She entered with her backup singers/dancers singing 'Me' a cappella, which she segued into her opening number 'Love Story'. 'Over It' followed 'Love Story', then she surprised me with a beautiful rendition of 'Home'. Bravo! Then she brought the singer/dancers back for a rousing 'Dangerous', slowing it down again with a perfect rendition of 'Mary Jane'. Lastly, she had a member of the crew brought on stage to participate in an amazing  performance of 'Not Ur Girl' to close out the set.

Kat announced during her set that she would be signing autographs after, so everyone rushed toward the area where they had a barricade setup. It was pretty much a mob scene, but luckily there were only a few hundred fans trying to shoehorn themselves into the area. Well Kat stayed long enough to sign autographs and take pictures with ALL the waiting McPhans, including yours truely. She was a real sweetheart, taking the time to talk to individual McPhans. Melissa and Jenn waited until after everyone else had moved on to give Kat presents, including a beautify double dish for Nena. Speaking of Nena, she also put in an appearance from the arms of Kat's tour manager Dorian.

I wish I could tell you what I said to Kat, and how she responded, but I'm not exactly sure. You see, it was all quite a blur. She's quite mesmirizing up close you know!

Congratulations Bill, you finally made it and you weren't sick this time. At the Allentown show I was trying to find you to give you my pledge money for the McPhee Outreach but no sign of you. I later discovered that you were sick and so I felt bad. But anyway, This time YOU DID IT! and not only that, YOU MET KAT! talk about killing 2 birds with 1 stone lol. Kat is so sweet to sign autographs for everybody who stayed after. I saw the pics from the show and they are phenomenal, you must have had a really good camera. Did you happen to get a pic of you with Kat? I know exactly how you feel when it comes to seeing Kat up-close. Your stunned by her beauty and you don't know what to say. Well maybe when you get off of cloud 9, it'll all come back to you, the whole night and what you said to Kat. Congratualtions again Bill, that is awesome.

Quite mesmerizing up close. WOW That's an understatement. So happy you finally made it to see her in person and to meet her. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats Bill. It was fun reading about your excellent adventure and meeting Kat for the first time!!!  We who have been lucky to meet Kat  all share the same feelings, yes, mesmerizing!!!
We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-
