This film had a release date of 2/06 but apparently was never picked up by a distributor and consequently never released. There is no indication if it will even go straight to dvd!!Too bad......

That is the main problem with being involved in an indie film. They usually get more publicity before it is shot.

It looks like a pretty good flic, but I didn't see Kat on the trailer and no mention of her on the cast list.

I saw it today too. Kat is in it for a few seconds. From the side it looks like Kat but I'm still not sure if it really is her. She's appears on screen when the trailer displays "ROY ORBISON".

I just saw her too but it was for about 1/2 second. She was leaning up against a wall and a guy was flirting with her. There was no mention of her in the list of cast members though.

Here is a still taken from the Large MOV file at native frame size for those of you who collect such detritus (such as myself )

The direct link to the large  version (MOV format ~22 MB) of the trailer is (left click to view right click and Save as to download):

http://crazy-themovie.com/media/video/crazy_trailer_lrg.mov

Katharine's moment comes about seventeen seconds into the trailer.

My brother suggested, after viewing the trailer for "Crazy"  that perhaps the cost of securing the the rights to all the music, that is integral to the story of this movie, was prohibitively expensive so the project was shelved.  I know that when the Cohen brothers made their movie Blood Simple the rights for a single song, The Four Tops' "It's the Same Old Song",  would have cost them a huge portion of that movie's budget, so they opted for another song.  When the movie was released in a Director's Cut on DVD the Cohen's added The Four Tops' "It's the Same Old Song." to the movie in the place that they had originally intended.   Perhaps rights for "Crazy" and "Jingle Bell Rock", ect were more than the budget for this movie could bear.  That happens sometimes.

How fun! Thanks for finding that moment. And she may not have had a speaking role but this IS just a trailer so who knows for sure exactly how much she was a part of the shooting but...who cares?! It was just neat to see her. My nephew was an extra in a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie and he was front and center a few times during one scene, no speaking but WOW was it ever cool to see someone you are so close to in a movie, speaking or not!

GB3535...you're not going to go see Kat in a movie?     That would be impossible for me to do I think. Just out of curiosity, why come you don't go to movies? You don't have to answer that...just curious 'cause I'm a huge movie buff.

Well.... I might.  It kind of depends on the movie.  I'm a "nervous nellie" and can't stay put for more than about 5 minutes, which leaves me antsy watching a movie.  I like musicals the best, or movies about people in music; but dramas or movies with tons of dialog I can't sit still long enough to watch all the way through.  I think the last movie I went to was "The Doors" movie, more than a few years ago.  But, if anyone could get me to sit through a movie, it would be Kat.

LOL!  OK...I have an idea! We'll find someone and buy a Xanax off them or, better yet, a valium tee hee!!  But, of course, I'd have to sit next to you and keep nudging you everytime your eyelids drooped!

Ahem... Unfortunately, it's been tried!  My doctor once gave 4x the recommended dosage of valium or a valium derivative, and I was just as hyper as before the medication.  I think the only solution would be a movie that had lots of singing in it and featured Kat!

Oh sure, a sailor would have to be hitting on her in the trailer.

Thanks for the link to that--because I tried to play it months ago and it wasn't available yet for whatever reasons. I guess it was first day the site went up, which means they probably had some technical issues colliding with my lack of patience.

For me, I like films about history (music history in particular)--so this trailer was quite compelling for me. Nevertheless, I do look at these films differently if I already know the history well and see all the faults of those Hollywood biopics. It's sometimes best to not know everything about the subject the movie's about...or you'll likely nitpick and ruin the enjoyment of the experience. I've only seen maybe a few truly great Hollywood biopics that were so stunningly real...you knew the producers did loads of research. But, overall, I know little about Hank Garland other than that he was a legendary backing guitarist on loads of classic recordings.

I'm actually surprised that Kat made it into the trailer when her appearance could have been excised as cameos usually are. Then again, if this gets distributed--I'd expect the producers to keep her part in there because she's so famous now. They can use that as a marketing angle in "seeing Kat's first appearance on film before playing a pregnant hippie."

Obviously, this will play in art houses if it ever gets released. So for those who are so young, you've never been in one, expect mostly older people in there. On the other hand, a lot of hip indie features play art houses now that get a huge diversity of people.

Based on the trailer, apparently the director shot more footage of Kat than we might know. Kat cast as a "Paramount Girl" expects you to think of her singing and dancing rather than just standing around. Instead, she might have just been cast as a magnet to the sailors who were on leave...
