I'll do my best, but it's really hard for me right now. I'm worried about my sales as well. I'm going to request Love Story tomorrow on the radio stations. I do have a big feeling that Love Story will help her sell more records. I think that should have been the first single.

I can't seem to request anything. I call and call and call and I always get a busy signal. Then I try emailing, and that doesn't seem to work either. I live in Portland, OR. Can anyone help??? Because believe me, I'd love to help Kat.

Thanks to Doug for providing the links to the stations from Portland again. I researched those a few months back and passed them on for Doug's site. And I only provided the email address--which may or may not work better than calling.

Angel: I'd stick with email considering the phone lines get jammed up frequently during the day. Just don't watch their live webcams (especially Z100's) where you'll only get pissed watching them conveniently ignore your emails while they sit and eat their lunch...

Well, I'll start my requesting here this week...assuming they have the single into stations in Portland starting tomorrow. When contacting Portland stations earlier this year for 'Over It'--a lot of them didn't get it in even long after the official release date. Of course, we realize now that a lot of them were just sitting on their hands waiting to see what the other large markets did in playing it. Ultimately, Hot AC stations in Portland had the guts to play it first. Z100 finally gave it some spineroos weeks after the fact.

I'd just contact the Hot AC stations first--particularly the one with Susan Stewart...who's the music director at that particular station. She's the one who debuted the song on the Portland airwaves after I wrote her numerous times requesting 'OI.'  Whether I was responsible for that, I don't know. Susan Stewart never wrote me back to know for sure.

Dbroom or anyone,  question? I see from the mediabase chart most of the stations currently playing or have played Love Story are pop stations.  Do we concentrate on Pop stations in our area.  I know K101 is a HAC station.  Didn't someone say that K101 did not have promo single?  It would be great if we knew exactly if it Love Story was sent only to Top 40 or if HAC stations was targeted too..

In the Voting Booth forum I have a short collection of sites that we used for Over It, some of which are still valid for Love Story. Some of these are on the stations' websites and they still have Over It on their lists or else they've removed her name entirely. It may not reappear on some of them until LS gets into the proper category (Top 40 or whatever) at which time we can vote to keep it there. If anything of Katharine's at all appears on the list, I vote for it. I'm keeping the link because I'm assuming eventually LS will be on it.

The ones that just give fill-in forms can of course be filled in at any time.

When the LS video comes out, which should be pretty soon if she's telling fans at the concerts she's working on choreography for it, I'm assuming the VH1 and TRL sites will have the same address only the information will be updated to reflect the current video.

It's just a one-stop shop for a lot of big sites that are accessible to anyone at any place in the country (satellite radio, tv shows etc.).

Requested to about 10 stations today. Keep my finger crossed!

 

btw, Congrats on your new book! It looks really interesting. I may check it out later this week.

Don't get discourage keep requesting..get your friends to help you. Stations love to hear from their listerners.  Remember Program Directors are responsible in creating the station's playlist, so email them too!   Let your request be heard!!!
