David Foster was just on the view and they asked him about Katharine.   I don't have the ability to upload it, but here's the replay:

Elisabeth: "I wanna talk about Taylor Hicks"
David: "I don't"
Elisabeth: "Why? You thought America got it wrong.  You though Katharine should have been the one."
David: "I mean, Katharine clearly is the star."
Joy: "I agree."
David: "She is! This girl is so amazing, and she sings SO good.  That slot is available right now.  You know, the music business is full of slots that are available. That one is available."
...
Elisabeth: "So Katharine McPhee is getting high compliments from you but we wanna hear some of the songs you've written and produced right now."

Barry Manilow stated last week on an interview about his visit to the idol stars that unfortunately in a few years from now most idols won't be remembered , but that he feels Katharine McPhee will become a legend!!

and he is going to help make it happen. Can't wait to see the JC Penney Jam in August!!

David has a 3 charity gigs coming up this fall with a huge one in LA in October (from what I recall). Look for Kat to be at all of them. (no this is not a rumour, just my belief).. but you can make it a rumour if you want.

wow I didnt see the view if he said all that about katharine unreal coming from him that guy is really big time he was in on promoting johnny mathis and god knows who esle I sure hope hicks was watching and dancing he better start looking for bars to dance i I was going to say sing but that would be wrong pissed me off the way he won Idol soul patrol yeah right I am from boston not to many hick fan there kat is loved there I am so happy about what david foster said I sure want kat to become big she is a wonder have to listen to her cd once a day it is like dope

Beret 7; I appreciate your enthusiasm, but at KMF, we keep to a "no-bash" standard and do not denigrate the efforts and enthusiasm of the other very talented performers we were so lucky to see this year on AI.

I would be happy to see all of the finalists having very succesful careers.

But Kat is numero uno in my books.

No offense beret7 but can you put some punctuation in between your sentences? Your message is very difficult to read. Also, it seems to me that you double post a lot. I've been deleting many of yours lately. You only need to click "submit" once. It may take some time to upload but clicking more than once will result in double or triple posting.

Now back to David Foster. This guy really had gained from me a lot of respect. First, as everybody knows, he is a music giant. Yes, he is a little stuckup sometimes but he really knows what he is talking. His accomplishment in the music industry certainly speaks for himself.

Back in the AI performance week when he was invited as a guest, he showed his professionalism in assisting the contestants and you can see how strict and high his standards are in terms of music.

Obviously, he recognized Kat's talent but he is not just lip servicing. He backs up with actions. He had her singing in Andrea Bocelli's concerts and he produced SOTR in her CD. Do you remember what he said during the introduction of the JCPenny Jam concert? "Sometimes being a runner-up is not bad and this girl will tell you why." And now, he is on national TV shouting out for Kat. This is probably as high a compliment as one can get from him considering him working with all the professional singers everyday.

Kat, I'm so proud and happy to see that your talent had finally been discovered, not by the ordinary but by the industry. As David himself had said before, "You'll have a great great future."

So, when I saw he was gonna be on the View, I TiVoed it because I said, "This guy's gonna 'push' Katharine! He has to! He's obsessed with her!" And sure enoughm he did! David is amazing, hands down!!

WOW! That's great.

I heard about this, and the Soul Patrol on the AI boards were swarming..omg. They said some really asinine things, but ANYway. I'm very glad Kat got a shoutout from David.

Hopefully she'll be on the View on the 20th.

Oh! Nope, beyond me. Unless you can connect that to your computer, I think that is possible. I'm old fashioned - I watch TV directly on my computer!
