Oh wow...very cool. I'm listening to Hilary Duff's interview with KBKS as I'm looking around here. She said something about meeting Katharine on Monday and how cool she was. Anyway...more stuff to look at. Wooo.

Awesome new footage that wasn't in the EPK. It was so cool seeing Kat writing in the booth for "Neglected". I can't get enough of this behind the scenes stuff. I could seriously watch it all day.

That was awesome! For some reason, watching Kat in the studio is really really fasinating...

Most of that was on the EPK--but, yes, that shot of Kat writing out some lines to 'Love Story' is the kind of stuff I've been waiting to see for months now. For a while there (before the EPK release), I began to wonder if they even had cameras in the studio. But people would be crazy not to film the entire process of Kat's first album for historical purposes. Thank God we finally have lots of footage available now to show the formation of a legendary artist. Only the famous shot of her doing the alternate version of 'Ordinary World' is missing from this otherwise brilliant publicity footage. From what we saw here, it looked like Kat was creating lyrics right on the spot there. I guess she really had to--considering she was likely by the time they broke for lunch already...let alone at night when the creative juices usually flow for some people who aren't exhausted. That was one intense creative time period for her, but it's the kind of thing creative people crave. If I had the time, I'd probably work on my own creative projects for 13 hours straight as Kat did here. Though considering the recording booth veers dangerously close to a water torture chamber, you can safely say that she went to hell and back at times. Yes, that lyric-writing process can be fun when done spontaneously. That's the way I usually like to work in that vein myself...and you can see Kat had more "Eureka!" moments there doing it that way. When you get a lyric that works perfectly with the music, it's really a gratifying feeling. Plus, it's not as easy to do as it looks either. Someone probably has that piece of paper with those 'LS' lyrics Kat scribbled down. Do you see that going for big money at a big-league auction someday? Maybe not, but I'm sure a lot of people will be grabbing up those doodles Kat does on scrap paper and nearby napkins in restaurants. That is, unless she continues to just draw on her own hands and arms out of boredom...

Am I nuts or did I hear lyrics like "Shoulda listened to my mother?" Glad that got changed. Too bad nobody shot down that missile that shot down her love ship. Oh well, they were working fast... guess something always gets under the radar. And yes, it's fun to watch K. just being K.

We're having WAY too much fun being entertained by you guys! BTW Mark, I like the 'missle' line too! Let's face it, this album isn't winning any awards for profound lyrics. But neither is anything else in the Top 40 pop world, with megahit songs like 'Sexy Back' and the oh-so-deep 'I Wanna BLEEP You'. And really, how important are lryics in the big picture? How many people say 'I really want to hear that song again, the LYRICS are so great?'. Not me. For me, great lyrics are like the whipped cream on a sundae. If there's no icecream and hot fudge, you just have a dish of whipped cream for desert.
