I decided we should start one thread for all of Katharine's songs for Mediabase. Today, Kat's debut single "Over It" debuts at #397 on the Pop Mediabase chart with 2 spins. We need to keep requesting the single to move it higher!!!!

Apparently RCA gave people the OK to request it, but if not, the fact that it got 2 spins when it wasn't even officially released is pretty good

Now the fun starts. We, as a fanbase, are excellent at voting and pestering people to showcase Katharine. I have many radio contacts where I live in Toronto and I'm assured Katharine will have the proper radio representation there. I also know many people in positions of authority at Much Music in Toronto and they, too, will play her video and single. All this, but I have to wait until the video and single are released, and when the album comes out, I expect everyone in Canada to be humming Katharine McPhee songs. It really is who you know sometimes.

I think the single has only been released to US radio stations, but it can't hurt to try and request it!

It was just released here in the US, and usually most things are released in the US and then later on released everywhere else. Sorry that's just normally the way it is

I've noticed that there's a difference in the Hot 100 single charts compared to the Album Charts. It seems like it takes a single about 4-5 weeks to make its way toward the top. Whereas an album starts high and slowly (hopefully slowly at least) drops down the list. Over It will probably hover in the 50-100 range until Katharine has a music video and makes her promotional appearances on television for the album. I mean this is the first day they wanted us to request and she's in the Top 200. Not bad.

Well she jumped over 100 spots in 1 day, so it is definitely possible, as long as she gets good airplay. The last Mediabase ranking for the week's Billboard position will be Sunday afternoon. That is what number she will be on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, and she could be even higher up on the Pop 100 Airplay chart, if she makes the Top 100

Wow! I guess that is really good? I have nothing to compare it with, being totally new to all of this. Have to learn a whole new language. Anyway, just thought I'd mention - I woke up this morning with "Over It" playing in my brain, been a long time since that has happened. It is just that kind of song. The "ear worm" factor it has been called. If it can get to me like that, it is going to do very well. I'm predicting top 5 if not #1.
