Nigel admitted that he wanted Chris to win but said he was thrilled that Kat and Taylor were in the finale.... but the good news is that the person doing the interview said that he was "delighfully surprised" by Katharine's album and thought it was a really good choice for her!!   This is good news because tons of people listen to this interview every week!!!

Well if Taylor's going to be back.  And the rumor is Chris will be back for Top 4 week...you have to think that Katharine will return for at least the finale.  I mean it would be cruel not to let her have that opportunity to sing in front of the biggest audience in TV again.  I think they have to.  If you let Pickler on...your other three RCA-signed artists have to be on as well or it doesn't make any sense.

I still think that meeting Kat had with the Top 12 recently was some kind of preparation meeting in an appearance. Why else would Kat just stop by the studios to say hello? Even when we go back to visit our old schools since graduating--there's usually another reason why we're there.

Yes, Nigel was always complimentary to Kat...even during the competition. And that was always a relief to hear during all the rumoring about all the 'AI' collusions to bring her down. Even I was convinced they were trying to get her off the show so Chris could win. That is, until Kat explained the process behind the show in interviews later. Now, we realize the whole show is an act for the sake of ratings and drama. The reality was that EVERYBODY involved with the show loved Kat a lot. And I think they loved her more than Chris too...even though Chris winning would have been a supposedly better financial windfall for 'AI.' Well, that's probably accurate after seeing how well he's done. Though, someday, they'll be proud they had Kat under contract for a while. You know once Kat flowers into major superstardom--she'll likely be under a different label and out from under 19E's massive wing. Then again, maybe we'll be surprised and she'll hang on to RCA and Clive. At least they're letting her do what she wants...unlike what other labels might do.

If Jordin wins 'AI'--then she and Kat might duet together on finale night. I think they'd blend fairly well together. Considering Jordin seems to be a big fan of Kat's too--that should be fun to see. You won't have to worry about Kat overshadowing Jordin either as Mary J. Blige did with Elliott...

I'm sure details about the finale will start leaking once the date gets closer, and maybe Kat will even supply her fans with some information. We'll have to keep our eyes and ears peeled for anything we can latch onto haha

That Mary J Blige thing was a disgusting diva move from a diva. She had no respect for the fact it was Elliott's stage. Even Mr. Loaf had an understanding of that fact. Certainly Katharine understands AI and would respect the contestants space. I just hope she is invited to perform. Taylor will be at the finale (only because he won season 5).

Everytime Kat has talked about AI, she always spoke highly of Nigel. My bet is she is on the finale or the week before

In my mind there never was nor never will be an excuse for the way specifically Randy and Paula treated Kat from about the Top 6 night on (basically starting from when she sang IHN).  They may have liked her alright but they ABSOLUTELY did not want her to win.  They obviously primarily wanted a male to win (Simon wanted Chris, I think Paula wanted either Elliott or Chris, and Randy just wanted any of the final 3 guys over Kat).  And while it was always obvious Simon didn't really want Kat to win I didn't have any problem with him because I thought for the most part he was fair to her.  But the truth of the matter is that there was never any need for the judges overall to treat Kat the way they did.  She was not going to win as was neither Chris or Elliott.  So Kat didn't stop Chris from winning.  Even if Kat had gone off on Elvis night Chris was STILL not going to outvote Taylor in the end.  Taylor had the most committed fanbase from the area of the country that supplies the most votes and was NOT going to lose.  So Nigel and Simon can whine all they want about wanting Chris to win but the fact remains Chris would not have won regardless of whether Kat was on the show or not as long as Taylor was there.  If these guys understood the voting demographic like you would think they should they would know this.  Believe me, if Chris couldn't outvote Kat and Elliott on Top 4 night there was no way for him to beat Taylor ever in my mind.  Chris has a LOT of fans but unfortunately not a large percentage of them or the type that will sit with a phone for 2 hours and vote for a reality TV show.

Katharine has always expressed her respect for the show and its producers. She never fails to thank Idol for her success and that seems to bae a rarity among alumnae.
