There has been much talk about Kat's decreased spins per week on Z100. While I do believe that we need to keep requesting, I don't think that Kat is doing bad. More stations are starting to pay attention to her and, while we do need to watch those that have consistently played her, more attention needs to be paid to those stations that are "starting" to embrace her. Just to put it in perspective and to show well well our girl is doing, just look at Christina Aguilera's "Candyman." Christina's song was released a bit after Kat's and yet it is already going down on spins as a whole (-60) while Kat's is gaining spins overall (+160). Keep in mind that Christina is an established singer and is widely recognized. Point being, our girl is doing just fine. Plus, she is soon to break into KIIS FM, which is Fantastic. Instead of looking into Z100 so much, start putting all that energy into KIIS FM, as it is a huge market for Kat. The END!

Absolutely true. Z100 has been a great help, but now we need to concentrate on getting other big market stations to add her.

You are preaching to the choir with me KATalystic. But nice to see another half-full optimist in our midst.

I talked about this extensively in another thread, but Clear Channel and RCA have a plan and timetable when they want this song to peak and it is going to happen according to their schedule, not ours. My best guess is that they are going to string it out so that single number two has a high-on-the-charts big brother when it begins its roll out.

And the good news, being that on Monday, they are announcing that Katharine McPhee is going to be one of the performers at Z-100's (WHTZ) big "Zootopia" concert at Nassau Coliseum, on May 18th.

Maybe by then, New Yorkers will have the McPheever again.

This is a "situation".  Really?  They aren't going to play it 8-10 times a day forever.  She's gotten over 350 spins on that station since they started in late January.  I believe it's her third-highest spinning station in all of the country behind only Salt Lake & San Francisco.

There's nothing to worry about.  Plus, they've done this cycling up and down thing a few times with her.  Even when she was #1 every night on the countdown.  Doesn't seem like that matters.  They do it however they please.  The countdown spin is just built into the schedule.  She didn't actually gain a spin because of it.  Because now when she's no longer on the countdown she just gets a spin in the 8 o'clock hour usually instead of the 9 o'clock hour.  Same thing in the afternoon.  She's on either in the 11 AM hour or the 1 PM hour.

I think all the requesting was important to get her on the station earlier than what was probably planned.  But once they got rolling...I'm not convinced all the requesting means much.
