Okay, just finished watching the girls round of Season 6 - Round 3 of the Top 24, and sorry ladies and gents, but the girls do own Season 6 of AI.  Thank the good Lord above for Blake and Chris Sligh, other than that - they're truly aren't any other guys that are on an equal level.   Melinda should already being recording; Lakisha (the midge, God bless her) - is on her way; Stephanie has major potential, and needs to find her own style/niche; Jordin is going to BLOW UP; and Gina is the white-rocker chick we've been waiting for since Kelly C was given the crown in 2002.  As a blonde myself - I must ask "Where are the blondes?"  and notice . . . not an ounce of country in this year's Sweet 16?  So, what does this message mean, America?   The Dixie Chicks were country, when country WAS cool.

Yup, the girls most definately blow the guys into the weeds. Even Blake and Chris S seem ordinary compared to the women, who are all excellent with the exception of Haley and Antonella.

And yes, I too feel Jordin is going to BLOW UP (ever since her audition!). She reminds me of a younger Kat in many ways. She's got the talent to make it to the Kodak this year, but she needs a fanbase to gel. I came up with 'Sparklers', but I don't know if I'm the first. Who has the time to go on the AI board and organize a new fanbase?

BTW, what did everyone think of Lakisha's version of IHN? I wasn't terribly impressed myself. Lakisha is a commensurate belter, similar to Mandissa last year. But like Mandissa, I don't think she she can sing softly with nuance and feeling. Even though Kat couldn't effortlessly hit the power notes like Lakisha, I think she brought much more texture and emotion to the song last year. Meanwhile the judges seemed to give Lakisha a 'free pass' on singing Whitney.

I was trying not to be biased, but I did feel Katharine sang I've Got Nothing better and put more emotion into it. Yet the judges raved and said that she was the first one of the night to put emotion into a song. Whatever.

I am finally putting a few names to the faces. Frankly, I am just not into it much this year. At this point, I don't have a favorite and could not care less who wins. After Katharine came along, it just does not matter much to me.

Who will go tomorrow (later today, actually)? I would guess there would be three possibilities, with a possible sleeper pick: The obvious one would be the girl they all said stunk. The other obvious one would be Antonella. With all the attention she is getting, people either love her or hate her, so she is standing out early in the competition. She may get through. My third would be Jordon Sparks. While all the girls after my first two are great singers, I would guess she might be vulnerable because she is young and may not have a big fan base. My sleeper pick is the black girl with the short hair. She is a great singer, but seems to lack in personality compared to the rest I have not mentioned.

However, what should happen is that whoever gets through should be pretty safe for a few weeks until 3 or 4 of the guys are gone.

Jordin is literally a standout....towering over all,especially Ryan..just the way Kat did!Great singing with a charming personality!!Now about those judges not remarking at all about Lakisha's choice of INH....this just proves their real agenda last year when they used the Whitney ploy to demote Kat.There's no comparison with these perfs...Kat's was so much more passionate,emotional and sexy.. button popping aside,she used her whole body to dramatize the emotion of that song!Lakisha stood there like a statue!The inequities of AI really tick me off!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point it's very hard to say who will win ultimately, there are a few possibilities. So far, the girls have shown far more talent overall and any one of three or four of them could take it. Melinda has the vocal talent, but so do Lakisha, Jordin and Gina. It will begin to be more apparent when the guests force them out of their natural genres and they are required to be more eclectic in their song choices

What is disappointing is that Idol has morphed into a popularity contest and not strictly a singing competition. Antonella has had three weak weeks and if she makes it into the top 12, where is the equity?

There is a lot of talent coming from the girls and the only guys I like are Blake, Chris & Chris. However, I'm with bcollan on this one. Jordin also reminds me of Kat. She has a very similar spirit and tons of talent (regardless of her youth). I really hope she goes far. My family loves her!

Have you all checked out the Jordin forum at idolswild? We need to start showing her some love from KMF. You all know what you did and still do for Kat. Let's rally for Jordin! She has a lot of heart and tremendous talent! She also seems very intelligent just like our Kat. Jordin needs help to keep up with the pros like Melinda & Lakisha. I believe she is going to get better and better each week, but she needs a stronger fanbase.

Yup! The girls are definitely runnin' the show right now. Though Blake is the best of the guys
and i think he'll be at the top, i'm not sure he can overcome Lakisha & Melinda in the end...IMO.
I've heard no mention of Sabrina Sloan yet..."Surprises me"! This gal has got some great pipes
also, i really like her alot, as well as Jordan & Stephanie. I've picked Lakisha & Melinda as the top
two, but truthfully it's hard at this point because of all the talent.

I was surprised the judges didn't call Lakisha on her take of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing". I remember the beating Katharine took on her wonderful rendition of this tune and eventually Simon offered an apology on his initial assessment (but Paula declared Paris as the Best Female Vocal of the evening-the jealousy factor was seeping in at that point!) Overall, I preferred Katharine's version of the tune over Lakisha's offering! The new numbers on the Billboard chart are off this week-starts at #1, 2, then #11 then into the 100's! I am curious as to Kat's standing this week!

The girls got a lot of talent this year, but the top contenders are so similar. They are power belters - Lakisha, Melinda, Stephanie, Sabrina and even Jordin - but they probably will compete with the same fan base. So they may cancel each other out and will result in a disappointing surprise or two. The country fan base may just mostly go to Gina, and maybe Jordin. Anyway, no one this year excites me as much as Kat last year!

I'm a little afraid for Jordin tonight. She's taken a beating due to the terrible lead-off spot last night. DialIdol has Antonella, Jordin, Sabrina, Haley and Stephanie all in a dead heat for the bottom 5, with Gina just above and NOT statisticly safe. It's anyones game tonight. The only safe girls are Melinda and Lakisha. But it's worse for the guys...NOT ONE of them is safe. Even Blake and Chris S. could leave tonight according to the DialIdol numbers.

WOW! If Jordin, Sabrina and Stephanie, not to mention Gina, aren't safe, OMG, these women are great singers. Maybe, finally, Antonella will be eliminated after three bad weeks. The final this year just may be two females. Compared to the girls, Blake and Chris Sligh both pale (comparitively)
