I just watched a little video clip previewing Kat's appearance on the Ellen Show tomorrow. It's on the website. I dont know how to do the link thing, sorry. Anyway, in the short clip they talked about her eating disorder. I know they dont have a lot of time in interviews but, I really wish they would ask some questions where Kat could showcase her personality. I'm looking forward to the show tomorrow. Maybe Ellen will prove me wrong and it will turn out to be a fantastic show. I suppose just the fact that she is sitting and talking is a good thing. Just wish we could move on with the eating disorder stuff.

Hmmmmm, I suppose one could consider that Kat's eating disorder was in her past, and that we should be looking forward. However, she decided to share her experience so that she could help others who are suffering. Considering how healthy and beautiful she looks now, this must act as an inspiration. Doesn't the Ellen show format allow Kat's interview to be more than just another promo opportunity?

Yeah, it's good she got some couch time rather than just performing. I assume they do a pre-interview and kinda go over what they will talk about on the show, so I guess Katharine's ok with this wether she wants to continue talking about it or not. Hopefully they don't dwell too much on the topic and get into talking about the music and all that good stuff.

Bigshady, thanks for adding that link there ( I think its a link, lol) Im not the crispiest chip in the bag with this stuff. I agree, hope they get to the music too. Oh, and no doubt she is an inspiration to many young girls for me it detracts from her album. Gotta chat it up!

I saw the same preview, and because she will be interviewed, it usually means she will be doing two songs, but last time Ellen had Kellie on, Kellie only did one song at the end and wasn't interviewed. I don't think it matters or detracts from the music exactly what she is interviewed about. It's still promotion and a showcase in which to perform her music.
I do agree, though, fresh interview material would refresh Katharine and relax her performance. It shows that they really still know very little about Kat, so they get redundant. I'm just happy that she was finally invited to perform on Ellen. She has massive viewer base and will buy everybody in the audience a copy of her CD.
Ellen is a very prestigious show. Anybody who dares to go opposite her (Sharon Osborne, Megan Mullally, Jane Pauley and Tony Danza) gets canceled.

Thanks for the link...helps me stay lazy!

Yeah I feel bad for Katharine everytime an interviewer brings that up. It's gotta be uncomfortable for her to constantly be asked about it
If I was famous I personally don't know if I'd ever have the strength to go public with deep personal issues like Katharine did, it takes a very very strong person to do that. I'm sure Kat and Ellen talked about other things too though!

I'm sure Katharine is not uncomfortable that she had eating disorder issues because she went public with that fact herself. She is uncomfortable, though, with unwitting interviewers to romanticize anorexia and bulimia. The general public knows so little about Katharine personally, that they have a tendency to dwell on the few things they do know. I hope Ellen initiated some humerous banter as well.

I didn't mean she was uncomfortable with the fact that she had those troubles, I just meant it might be uncomfortable for her to be asked about it so much, when there's probably lots of other things she'd rather talk about.

knowing Ellen, well not actually personally knowing Ellen, but um, based on how she handles interviewing celebs, there's always humor that she throws into the conversation, that's what i foremostly looove about Ellen, she's different from Oprah but in a very good way. Oprah is like the Oracle from another lifetime which i love too.
but yea, i think Ellen probably just mentioned the eating disorder thing to kind of sum up what Kat has made public about her, i mean come on, everyone would be surprised about that kind of news. but that was probably meant so Kat can warm up to Ellen a l
