This could really hurt Chris if it is true.

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/ap/20060324/114324156000.html

He is my 2nd favorite on the show, but it is a really distant favorite.  I don't exactly have a fan site for him ya know?

To put a positive spin on things, might mean more votes for Kat.

I don't think Chris is leaving the show anytime soon. His true fans (he has a lot of them) will stick by his side no matter what.

I agree! People in the music industry  will get bent out of shape by things like plagiarizing arrangements. But I don't think they mean very much to the average fan of a particular artist (in this case, Chris).

Rumblings on the boards say that there are disgruntled Chris fans out there, none too thrilled that he didn't acknowledge Live's arrangement of "Walk the Line." But it's obvious that the AI producers don't care -- they just want a winner who can sell lots of records, and apparently Chris comes closest to their view of someone with a pop-rock style like Kelly Clarkson's. Both Randy and Simon Fuller (in the upcoming Rolling Stone issue)  have said that AI is not an R&B show (i.e., Fantasia & Ruben.) So here's something to consider: Chris seems like a nice guy;  maybe he did admit that he was using Live's arrangement (like he admitted the week before that he was using the Red Hot Chili Peppers'), but the producers chose to ignore it/edit it out because they want to promote their boy as much as possible.

Well if he did give Live credit and the producers edited it, then Chris should be ticked off because he's catching all the flack for it. If he didn't give Live credit then he just needs to address this in the next episode.

Interesting ...

Maybe the AI producers would really like a man to win this time, too (because women have already won 3 out of 4 times).

But if the AI producers did do this, then their scheme backfired, didn't it? Maybe they didn't expect the truth to get out about it! And if it ends up hurting Chris (unintentionally, of course), then it can only help Katharine!!

Agreed, Stewart.  It appears they may want to steer it in that direction if they can.
