We have had contact with Kat's team today regarding some of the issues that have come up because of the changes in the Pilot schedule and its possible conflicts with the tour. Here is what they said we could post.
Regarding tour dates, we are doing all we can to preserve any dates that have been scheduled. The challenge is and will always be when dealing with networks or promoters or film companies, things can always get pushed or changed. Everyone invested in Katharine has done and will continue to do an amazing job of juggling her busy career. The networks and all the production companies we have worked with have been amazing. They always work extra hard to make sure Kat can juggle everything but sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control and things change. We wish it were deeper or more interesting but just like our daily schedules, we cannot always control everything. Some things just aren't in our control. There is no news as of yet to anything being cancelled. Of course when there is,we will reach out and make sure there is complete clarity. With regard to Katharine and the schedule, it ultimately is not up to her
On the radio front:
the label is taking a little break at the moment and putting together the next radio strategy.
They were very positive about the strategy and their relationship with the label. They also said they have some very good promo coming up and after that is out our requesting will start again with a new single!

Film companies? In regard to YMNKTB, or did she maybe make a bigger impression on Judd Apatow than we were aware of. |

Thanks for the info!! We know Kat is busy with different projects going on, and it looks like they are doing what they can to not have to change her tour schedule again. Good news that there will be another single!! |

Thanks Bill. It helps to finally get some information even though it means we're in for some more waiting. The label is likely waiting until Kat's schedule clears up a bit or at least until the pilot is shot. |

The interview that is posted in the Media area certainly seems to confirm that Goucher is still on. That is a good thing certainly. It is all just part of the process involved with a diversely talented artist I guess. |

Bill, did they say why Verve is taking a break before putting out the next single? Is it because of Kat's busy schedule or because the label is busy with other artists? And if neither one of those, I'm not sure I like the idea of them taking a break before putting out the next single. |

They did not get into specifics. Just that there are some very good promotional projects they want in place before we start requesting again. Once that happens they would like some help with locally targeted requesting. |

Bill, did they give you some idea of the length of the break?
And do I understand correctly that you're saying it's not because of Kat's other projects (necessarily) but because they want to have certain things in place before they get going on the next single? |

No, but I didn't get the impression that it was more than a few weeks possibly.
They did not get into specifics about anything behind it. What was posted was what they said to post. |

Of course, that doesn't explain why they were telling us to request! the song just a few weeks ago and then went silent on us. Let's just hope they put the single out in the next few weeks and support it properly and don't muck it up. |

pac, maybe, but in my opinion, not many people in a group actually help on things. At least at my office, those setting up social events are almost always the same few people. I would be surprised if Verve really expected more than a handful to actually call. |

there is your answer then, they didn't get the support they asked for. I know of some of us requested every AC and HAC station. I noticed many were complaining about doing it. |

Pac, I agree with you. I remember all the work everyone did requesting "Over It." I really think we helped get it going, even though I didn't get much of a response from my local stations. It was fun to get her song played at noon and in the evening in NY and to keep her on their top 20 list for a long, long time. It kept me going, knowing that Katharine needed us and there were other fans doing what I was to help her with her career. However, I think those days are past. I can tell by the posts...it just isn't the same, now its all complaining and no helping. I know a few of you are working very hard, I think a few like me are working a little, but most "fans" aren't requesting at all.
When Verve does select a second single I think they will have to do quite a bit of promotion with the radio stations to get them interested in playing it. Otherwise, no stations will select it to play when it becomes available. That would be a disaster, just like "Love Story." Therefore, there has to be some lead time, and they will have to spend money for salaries, gimmicks, advertisements, etc. They may even need to make another video, which is very expensive. I can't blame them for taking their time with the selection, because if they are wrong, they definitely won't recoup their investment, much less make a profit, which is the reason they are in business...and Katharine might be out of a job. So please be patient, and if you are a reall fan, when the song does go for adds...request it, request it and request it some more! It will be time for every fan to work. |

Not everyone can make over thirty five hundred calls and twenty six hundred emaiil requests in six months as I have done.
Misty also has pushed herself to at least my numbers.
I have every date and time of every HIA spin since it was released to the radio.
Other KMF fans have also extended themselves to do as much as they could.Personally this was a first time thing for me and I would do it again for Katharine in a heart beat.It's spinechilling to know that you are part of a team that has kept
Had It All where it is and how long it's been able to sustain it's self against all odds.Fighting the stars she is up against on the charts and the stations that ignore her.
Katharine will survive and Verve is behind her one hundred percent because she is one of the most talented artists of her Generation

I agree. Thanks to everyone here who has worked tirelessly for Katharine and done whatever they can to support her and her music. Even if all you can do is one call a week it helps. We have absolutely seen that in action. Unfortunately in the fan world as in life its usually the ones who whine and complain the most that do the least actual work. Thankfully this group is exactly the opposite. |

Kat is answering emails again and said this when I asked about her association with Feeding America, "I am really involved with Feeding America. There is going to be a great promo happening beginning May 1 for Feeding America so please stay tuned." Of course, it may very well be something prerecorded by Kat so try not to worry too much about it being another scheduling conflict. As someone pointed out in one of these discussions, Kat is in a business, which means people are trying to make money. They know that brand loyalty is important and they will do as little to tarnish her brand as they can, whether it's singing or acting or what. |
