Just got home from the Denver AI Concert. It was held at the new Pepsi Center which also holds the Arena Football games. I mention that to give you an idea of how big the place is! Well, it was packed to the rafters!
This will just be a quick review. I'm hoping others who attended tonight's concert from this site took pictures and will post them. My seats were pretty far back and I spent alot of time looking through binoculars. My daughter had a pair of binoculars with a digital camera attached so with any luck, I may have photos to post in the next few days!
Just let me say what many others have before me. All of the Idols were amazing! So much stronger than on the TV show. I'm sure they were also much more relaxed and enjoyed every minute performing for us.
Mandisa, who has an incredible voice and really got the crowd going, started as usual and dedicated her second song to Ace's brother Ryan, who was in the crowd, of course! Everyone went crazy when Ace

joined Mandisa on stage...and rightly so.! He was amazing tonight.! You could just see the joy in his face to be perfoming for his home town! And, the home crowd sure showed him love back! The place was going crazy as he was jumping all over the stage! In the final number (LIA), the others let him sing more than his normal section in the song and even had him come back out for a solo final bow! As my daughter would say, "He is so Yummy!"

Lisa showed how talented she really is...so much stronger a performer than was seen on the TV show! And she really can play the keyboard!! She and Paris did a great job on TLC's Waterfall. I have to mention that the Denver crowd was in fine voice for all the "sing along" sections of the concert! Especially, the ladies during Mandisa's I'm Every Woman!
All of the performers mentioned how short of breath they were because of the altitude. Denver isn't known as the Mile High City for no reason! Those of the performers who have had voice training made it through pretty well. Only Kellie and Bucky seemed noticably short of breath and not able to talk much between songs...but they still tried!!! Chris rocked the house! He is just amazing!
He asked if we would all be back to hear him when he comes to Denver again and of course, the crowd went wild!

His versions of Renegade and Dead or Alive were outstanding. I've seen Jon Bon Jovi with Richie Sambora do that song live here in Denver at an outdoor natural arena called Red Rocks. Chris did himself proud on that number!
As for our Kat, well, it was over much, much, much too soon!!!
Her set was much shorter than the others (I'm sure because of her being careful with her voice yet). But, what a performer!
She is so at ease on the stage and really shows through her dance moves and voice that she is loving every minute of what she's doing! She was still without her hair extentions, wearing her hair straight. She looked luminous! I couldn't decide whether to watch through the binoculars, or watch the screen! Through the binoculars though, she was just glowing!!! Her voice is incredible!! How many of us will say that again, and again?!!! She sounded different on each song....showing just how versatile she really is! Of course, her crowning glory is SOTR. The crowd was pretty hushed for most of the song (except for when she would pause..then she had to wait for the crowd to hush again) and I was able to hear a lot of runs in her lower range that I had never heard before in any of the recordings we've had a chance to hear. I just love the new ending! As I said, it was over way, way, too soon! Now, just can't wait for her album to come out!
We're going to be seeing and hearing a lot more from this talented, beautiful performer! She is so at ease and professional on that stage. It was like she was in her living room (in her bare feet, too) just singing for friends and family. Kat made it look so effortless! Katharine is very easily going to follow in Barbara Striesand's footsteps!
Elliot was very well received and did a great job. He, along with Katharine , have such amazing vocal abilities that really aren't shown off to their full potential in a big arena. I'm sure I'm not the first to mention that! They are incredible and I would go anywhere to hear them again.
I just can't sing her praises and my admiration for her talent enough! She said they all had to drink gallons of water backstage just to keep hydrated! Not only because of the high altitude, but because of the small amount of humidity here. You get dry mouth so very quickly! Ugh!
As for Taylor, well, what can you say!!??!! There wasn't one person seated for his entire set! Everyone just loves him! He is really in great shape physically, because I think any other performer who goes all out the way he does would have been on the floor for sure by the end of the show!
Gee, this really wasn't a short review! Sorry, but like everyone else who reports in, you just have to sing everyone's praises.....and especially, our Kat! Such a classy lady!
They're off to Texas now...God Speed and keep them all safe!
