 I had no idea who this girl was until maybe last month, when I saw her album at my local record store. I got curious, since she's Australian and pretty much all the Australian singers I've heard have been amazing. Vanessa Amorosi is no exception.
This song was a strong contender when I was considering my favorite song of the year, but if I was to rank the top five songs of the year, this would most probably be number two.
It's got the second most gorgeous melody(second only to my favorite song of the year..) for any song this year, and the vocals are amazing, she reminds me of an older Michelle Branch.
Let's focus on the vocals for a moment. She has a beautiful voice, but not in the Katharine McPhee/Karina sort of way. Her voice is more rock-y, but it's mind-blowing beautiful.
The song itself as I said earlier, has a melody that almost ties in terms of amazingness with my favorite song of the year. It starts out with an amazing intro and an OK verse, very Michelle Branch-y, but then the chorus just blows me away with an amazing melody and an equally amazing accompaniment.

Great find,Groucho!
This somewhat proves that Katharine is truly becoming a household name....soon to join the group of one-name celebs.
Very interesting that the blogger presumes that the reader will not only know who Kat is,but also the very quality of her voice.....beautiful,.but only mildy "rock-y"! |

I think that description was meant for the girl who recorded the album.
I wish we had more news about Katharine's album instead of some girl who looks like her. |

Didn't feel like making a whole thread out of this. I just think it's interesting to see some of the lists she gets included in...childhood idols, president of France, I don't even know who some of these guys are. Oh, it's celebrity weddings of 2008. I like the sound of that. Celebrity.

I wonder if she will ever take up videoblogging to us again once the new album is ready to come out.
We would be happy with 45 seconds of "Loving Nashville, did the town with Kellie last night, life is good, 30 days til A-Day!",
followed by " Nena had a birthday party, Larry had 3 pieces of cake and barfed on the couch, wish you coulda been there,
it's 23 days til A-Day!" etc. (A is for album) |

I feel secure in saying that Kat will not forget her fans in the next week.....wouldn't want us to feel"Neglected".
We may not be the beneficiaries of the gift of another song....but a holiday message would sure be sweet!!! |

All the songs and performances included in the HitMan concert DVD/CD
are excellent but one stands out. The Prayer featuring Katherine McPhee and Andrea Bocelli is both riveting and exceptional. It's a beautiful, uplifting song on it's own, but executed with the artistry of Bocelli and McPhee it becomes a real showstopper. Their rendition is tender, powerful and utterly flawless. This cut alone is worth the price of the package. Kudos to Ms. McPhee for not only holding her own in the presence of such a celebrated partner, but in knocking it out of the park in her own right as the other half of this remakable duo.
